Independent Investigations

Corporate and outside counsel recognize the need for corporations to engage law firms independent of their existing law firm relationships to conduct internal investigations, from employment to Foreign Corrupt Practices Act allegations. We have the experience and credibility to manage such inquires, to effectively communicate with the senior most levels of the company and its Board, outside counsel and, if necessary, government agencies. We are skilled in dealing with the many constituencies and interests that emerge in these engagements.

Examples: Led the investigative team in the inquiry into allegations of racial discrimination and obstruction of justice at Texaco. Led a blue ribbon panel recommending significant management changes for the New York City Department of Buildings.
